It’s been two weeks since our last blog from Kanina highlighting the work of the Manta Ray Trust.
The start of the year has been busy with lots of enquiries from Scout groups, Army & Air Cadets and individuals.
We are well on the way to giving all those who want a Discover Scuba Diving session from Chelmer Valley High School the opportunity and look forward to starting their Open Water Course after the February half term.
This has meant we have had some very busy pool nights with the staff working hard at both South Woodham Ferrers and Basildon.
At the same time we have had scuba reviews running for divers getting ready for Winter breaks overseas and carrying on with their UK diving.
On 18th January, Gary spent some time in the pool with Janie who was being filmed for the Fixers charity, highlighting young people and sporting activities having a positive impact on their lives, which will be shown in due course on the ITV networks. Dates to follow.
We are carrying on with all of our non-diving winter speciality courses with an Enriched Air Diver course. Rhonda has already run one course and there’s another one this coming Saturday. This has been a very popular course to help with extending bottom time. In the near future there will be an equipment speciality course; dates and times to be announced.
We have started to fill out our events page on Facebook with this year’s holidays, weekend and other dive trips.
So far we have South Africa and Red Sea, Dive Fest, the Farne Islands and Eastbourne.
A few brave divers have already ventured into the water, albeit inland dive sites, and as expected it has been very cold with Nemes, Stoney Cove and Buckland being visited.
